Le Gard Made in Provence
The village of Pujaut is situated at 5kms from Tavel, 6kms from Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, 13kms from Avignon, 30kms from the Pont du Gard, 36kms from the Gorges du Gardon and 42kms from Uzès.
A few minutes from Avignon, away from the highways, Pujaut is a meridional village where life is as pleasant as it should be. The main square is shaded by the plane trees and is an important place of life: bowls games, but also second-hand goods sale and a drink at the bar’s terrace. This is how life should be in the south…
On the plateau of Pujaut, just above the village, the walkers will admire the wonderful view on the plain. A long time ago, the plain was initially a pond that was finally drained during the 17th century. As a consequence the fishermen became farmers.
There are many sightseeings to visit around Pujaut. You may choose between Tavel, Avignon the papal city, Villeneuve-les-Avignon and la chartreuse, Nîmes the roman city, the Pont du Gard, Cesar’s camp in Laudun l’Ardoise…
We can also recommend you several activities such as discovery around the wines of the region, bathing in the Gardon, hiking and pony trek, riding, glider or parachute jump at the aerodrome of the village.
